Democratic Leadership Training for Tunisian NGO's

Objectives:    

• Strengthen the advocacy skills of the participants and their
  NGOs influence policy at the local, regional, and national levels
• Develop sustained international, institutional and individual
  linkages
• Enhance the mutual understanding between Tunisian participants
  and their American counterparts on one another's political, social and
  economic structures

Phase I: Needs Assessment Conducted by Heartland International Team in Tunisia
(July 2001)
 
Phase II: Tunisian NGO Leaders take part in a three week training program in
Chicago focusing on the programs objectives  (November 2001)
 
Phase III: Tunisian NGO Leaders take part in a three week training program in
Chicago focusing on the programs objectives  (April 2002)
 
Phase IV: Heartland International Team returns to Tunisia to conduct
follow-up meetings and make further connections for prospective trainee
organizations for phases V and VI  (September/October, 2002)
 
Phase V: Tunisian NGO Members take part in a three week training program in Chicago focusing on the programs objectives (Winter 2003)
 
Phase VI: Tunisian NGO Members take part in a three week training program in Chicago focusing on the programs objectives (Spring 2003)
