Building Enterprise through Association Development 

Objective: Enhancing business management skills of Tanzanian women. Heartland International’s assistance to TAWE (Tanzanian Association of Women Entrepreneurs) is primarily provided through the Building Enterprise though Association  Development (BEAD) program.

BEAD 1

Phase 1: In-country training for TAWE’s Executive Committee, trainers, and members (October 2000)

Phase 2: Month-long, US-based training in business management and institution building for TAWE’s members (March 2001)

Phase 3: Follow-up consultation and training program in Tanzania (September – October 2001)

  BEAD 2

Phase 1: a month-long, US-based training program that built upon skills and knowledge gained during BEAD 1  (May 2002)

Phase 2: additional follow-up consultation and further training in Tanzania (September 2002)
