Building Enterprise through Association Development

Objective: Enhancing business management skills of Tanzanian women. Heartland International’s assistance to TAWE (Tanzanian Association of Women Entrepreneurs) is primarily provided through the Building Enterprise though Association  Development (BEAD) program and L.E.A.D. - Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Advocacy & Development.

Since 2000, Heartland International has conducted a series of train the trainer seminars for the TAWE leadership enabling the organization to grow from a core group of visionary women in Mwanza to a national organization with 7 chapters and 300 members across Tanzania.

In 2007, Heartland International will train a select group of TAWE members to serve as mentors to a new group of emerging women entrepreneurs.  Through the L.E.A.D. project, this new group of women will strengthen their business and leadership skills.
