Richard Johnson has a distinguished academic career, having served as Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  He is professor emeritus of Political Science at UIC. Richard has worked with Heartland International on numerous democratic development projects in North Africa, Eastern and Central Europe, Eastern and Southern Africa, and the NIS.
